It's Clean, It's Safe, It's Absolutely Beautiful! The Natural Swimming Pool and Why It's Good for You

Blog

There is nothing more relaxing than cooling off in a pool in the Aussie heat. However, lingering too long in the pale blue water can take a toll on your skin and hair due to chlorine. Now, imagine a pool that keeps your skin, your hair and the environment healthy.

Natural swimming pools are chemical-free, environmentally friendly pools that require low ongoing maintenance costs. Also, they are a healthy alternative to conventional pools. These beautiful outdoor features use plants and sand filters to keep the water clean and clear without chemicals.

Not to worry, you will not get mud between your toes or tadpoles clinging to your hair. Natural pools can be designed in a multitude of ways to resemble wild natural ponds or even a standard tiled pool. If you are considering a pool in your backyard, here's why you should consider a natural pool.

Design flexibility

Although natural swimming pools bring up an image of a pond filled with mud at the bottom, the pools can be designed to resemble conventional pools. If you'd like to achieve a natural pool that precisely resembles a conventional pool, your designer pool builders can hide the gravel filter underground.

However, if you do prefer a pool that feels immersed in nature, how about designing a pool that resembles a pond? This is the kind of pool that you can only find in the woodlands complete with boulders, rocks, and plants. The bottom line is that natural pools have a higher design flexibility compared to conventional pools.

Work well in any climate

Natural pools can integrate into any climate. During winter, they will freeze over just like a pond in the wild and the water will be up and flowing during hot summer months.

Require less maintenance

After construction is finished, natural pools require less maintenance than conventional pools that require weekly if not daily monitoring of chlorine, pH, alkalinity, and hardness.

The natural ecosystem of natural pools eliminates the need to add or regulate chemicals since the pool practically maintains itself. With a natural pool, you need not worry about the constant upkeep and can instead enjoy more time in your pool.

Environmentally friendly

Natural swimming pools blend right into the environment. Since they have their own ecosystem that helps clean the water, they prevent dangerous pool chemicals from being released into the environment.

If you'd prefer to enjoy your pool the organic way, consider hiring talented designer pool builders to incorporate your natural pool into an overall backyard oasis.

Making Sure Your Pool is Clean

Hello! My name is Peter but my friends call me 'Swimming Pool Pete'. This is because of my new obsession - my swimming pool. I had a new swimming pool installed in my backyard last summer. My family and I had a fantastic time swimming around in the pool all summer long. When the weather became cold and the leaves began to fall, I covered the pool and went inside. However, on the first day of spring, I was devastated to discover that the water in my pool had turned green. I called a pool guy who came over and he explained I needed to add chemicals to the pool to maintain the water quality over the winter months. I asked this man a million questions and I have taught myself everything there is to know about pool care.
